Belize is a diverse cultural society, located on the northeastern coast of Central America. It is bordered on the north by , to the south and west by Guatemala and to the east by the Caribbean Sea. It affords miles of sandy beaches which run east to south. Belize is a Commonwealth country with a rich British colonial history. English as their official language, although English Creole and Spanish are more commonly spoken. If you go off the beaten path, you will find musicians playing and drumming on the beach, junkanu dancers and native cuisine like mashes plantain soaked in coconut stew. Belize’s abundance of terrestrial and marine species and its diversity of ecosystems give it a key place in the globally significant Mesoamerican Biological Corridor.
